Pregnancy/Belly Pics

So surprise to all those who haven't seen me in the last few months or heard but we are expecting!!! I can't believe that I am even typing those words.  I am just so super-mega excited for this little guy to join our family!  It has been a very long wait and I truly feel unbelievably blessed.

About 21 weeks

24 weeks

A better shot of the belly at 24 weeks.

She wanted to be included in the picture taking too!

28 weeks

35 weeks and feeling so so GIANT!
I have learned and grown so much in the last few years as we've tried to bring another baby into our family.  It has been quite the emotional roller coaster ride.  I am so thankful for a strong and supportive husband who never gave up faith.  I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for each all of his children and He never forgets about us especially at our hardest times.
This pregnancy has been a little harder than with Addisyn but mostly because I am older and chasing around a pretty energetic four year old. For the most part it has been wonderful. I didn't get too much morning sickness but I was so tired.  Mitch would come home most days to me laying on the couch surrounded by a very messy house and then he would proceed to make dinner because I just didn't have the energy.  Thankfully that only lasted a few weeks and then I was much better at keeping up with things.
Around 16 weeks is when the fun part began because I started to feel lots more movement.  At first I didn't think he moved as much as addy did but now I take it back because he is all over the place when he is awake which is usually the time I am trying to fall asleep!
It was about 20 weeks when we found out it was a boy.  Big time shock. We were hoping for a boy but I really thought it was going to be another girl.  It was pretty clear in the ultrasound so we shouldn't be having any surprises at the delivery.  This is also when Mitch started calling him Basher because he wouldn't show us a good view of his face but he wasn't bashful about showing his manhood!
And time has just flown by as we've tried to get things ready for his arrival. Now we only have a couple days until we get to meet him!

Special Delivery (brought to you by the letter C)

Well folks we want to you all to say hello to the newest member of our clan, Addisyn Trelauny Workman. She weighs in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. and has her fathers brains to accompany her mothers good looks. Let the record show she was born on the 12th of September 2008 at 5:15 pm. Here's how it all broke down. Thursday night at around 9:15 Melanie had a little "water damage." After consulting with the hospital we decided that we would monitor her through the night. other than contractions every 15 minutes not much was happening. So at 8:30 in the morning we called the clinic and they had us go in for a quick check up. The first test showed no signs of amniotic fluis leakage. However, the doc wanted to double check it with an ultrasound. Good thing he did cause we noticed right away that there was hardly any fluid at all. So the next thing we know is we are admitting her to labor and delivery. That all got started about 9:30 a.m. At around 4:00 p.m. the doc came in to check on her and despite having worked so hard all day with contractions she wasn't dialating. at this point because the baby was already overdue coupled with the fact that there was no dialation we had to proceed with a C-Section. Melanie was fabulous!!! I was able to be in there and watch the surgery so I can now say I love her guts! A few minutes later there she was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. The sad part is that it has now been almost 15 hours since delivery and mom has still not seen nor held the little angel. In fact she has only seen as much as you have with these pics. The reason for this is that because of the stress of the labor the baby inhaled some fluids into her lungs and she has been in the nursery getting treatment. Nothing too scary, but definitely needed to be taken care of. I truly am the luckiest guy in the world. I've got 2 great girls. What else matters?

Yet another appointment

I sadly made it to yet another doctors appointment this morning. Thank goodness this time I actually came away not feeling so depressed. Maybe that is because the doctor scrapped my membranes which I'm not really sure what that means but it really was not that comfortable so I think it is suppose to help get things going a little faster. He also said that I was at a 2 which really is not that exciting seeing as I am already 4 days past my due date but still it was progress from last weeks 0. Also I was scheduled for an induction on Monday morning with a 70% chance that I will go before that. Really it wouldn't suprise me one bit if I made it till monday morning just because every week I've told myself that I wouldn't make it to another doctors appointment and so far, I have made it to every single one. This time there is no other doctors visit (until after the baby comes) just the trip to the hospital so that is great news!

A touch of personality

We have decided that our baby already takes after me and is very stubborn. So those of you who may have been wondering, yes, we are still waiting for our little baby to come into the world. I just hope that when she finally decides to grace us with her presence that she does it quickly. So here I am in all my beauty at the end of Sunday(when I was suppose to be in a hospital) at 40 weeks pregnant. As you can see the only clothes that are really comfortable anymore are Mitch's t-shirts so that is what I wear everyday. Thank goodness he is normally a little bigger than me (at the present moment I wouldn't say that) but I do try to wear his older shirts so that I don't stretch out the middle too much!

Another funny story, well I thought it was funny. Mitch and I were out shopping a few days ago and we were sort of in a hurry so he was driving around trying to find a parking spot and all that were left were quite a ways away. This normally is not a problem and we just park and walk because I enjoy it and know it is good for me. In fact one day I was giving Mitch a hard time about always finding the closest parking spot that he drove to the very farthest corner and parked and we walked. Anyways so he's driving around trying to find a spot and the very last one on the row by the handicap spots was a little red sign that said, "expectant mother parking". We've seen these signs before but since I like to walk we've never parked there but on this day we thought it was too crazy to pass up. Then I laughed because sometimes it is hard to tell if some woman are pregnant or just a little overweight but I turned to Mitch and told him that in our case it was only slightly obvious.

Learning patience

Well I had another doctors appointment this morning and I was really excited because lately I feel like my baby has been dropping. Which means that she is really crushing my bladder which I didn't think could get much worse. Anyways so I was really hoping that he would tell me to head to the hospital, okay so maybe a little extreme, but I was hoping for a things are coming along great and maybe we should plan on an early delivery. Instead, my favorite doctor, who also happens to be on call this week which is another reason why I wanted my baby to come early, tells me that I shouldn't have any problems going to the state fair on Saturday (which was one of the things that I had asked earlier in hopes that he would tell me that I shouldn't be too far from the hospital). He did try to lift my spirits somewhat by saying it is my first one and so it is hard to predict what will happen but the chances are pretty slim that anything will happen this week. I guess that does give some time for my camera, which we ordered several weeks ago to make sure it was here in time for the baby, to get here. I really do feel like all I do is wait and wait and wait but I do believe that the payoff from waiting will definately be worth it!

The Diaper Bag

One of the funnest parts of having your first baby is being able to shop for all the supplies such as a stroller, car seat, crib, clothes, blankets, etc. (the list is very long which is why I am really glad to all those who came to my baby showers!) So far everything has gone really well and Mitch and I have agreed on pretty much everything, meaning he just hasn't really cared so I got what I wanted, until the dreaded purchase of a diaper bag. I did not want a big, bulky, plastic coated, normal diaper bag because I just don't think they are that cute; functional yes, but cute no. Mitch on the other hand liked the organized pockets with a place to put the bottle and this and that. So needless to say, I waited for quite awhile before buying the diaper bag that I wanted using the excuse that I will be the one carrying it around most of the time anyway. When I showed Mitch my new purchase, being the good husband that he is, pretended not to care but of course I could tell that it sort of did. Well problem solved. Today at my doctors appointment the nurse asked if I had received my two free diaper bags and I looked at her like what are you talking about so she said she would bring them to me and whala, Mitch now has two diaper bags with organized pockets that he can rotate through and I have my one super cute bag that will always drive him nuts to dig through to find whatever he is looking for.

I know the pictures are really blurry. I was using our camcorder to take the pictures because I am still waiting for our new camera to come in the mail and our old camera doesn't have any batteries.

The last month

So today is the day I have been waiting for because now I am officially in my last month. I can't believe how fast time has gone (and how much bigger I have gotten) but now I am starting to feel like it is slowing down which could possibly just be because everything is getting so much harder to do. Bending over is like impossible and getting up several times in the middle of the night does not help the body rest like it needs to so I am constantly tired. Truthfully, I think it could be a lot worse so I am just lucky that this is all I have to deal with. The funny thing is, now that it is almost time for the baby to come, people feel like they always need to share their delivery stories especially those who have had problems and complications and then they will all end by saying, "oh, but don't worry this won't happen to you." Like that really helps. So I just try not to think of the thrill it is going to be to push this baby out, let's just hope she is a small thing with a little head.
PS- I just got an email saying my crib has finally come in so I can finally post pictures of the nursery!

62 days to go

Today marks the end of month 7. Now I only have two of the hottest months of the year to get through and then we will finally get to hold our little girl. I was hoping to be a little closer to being ready but with girls camp next week and family reunions we just have fallin a little behind schedule which means I will just have to being doing a lot of stuff the last month.

Sugar and spice and everything nice

I know it has been awhile since I last posted but I have been out of town. Mitch decided to do some temporary work for APX at the beginning of the summer and so all last week he was in Alaska so I went down to stay at my parents house. He did make it home for our doctors appointment yesterday and then he left early this morning. I know all of you are dying to know what we found out at our appointment even though you have probably already guessed but IT'S A GIRL!! We are super excited, plus everything looked really normal considering the parents she is coming from. We did get a good laugh because you could see the ears and if any of you have seen Mitch's baby pictures he has huge dumbo ears (i'll have to post a picture later) and so that is one trait we are hoping does not get passed down but from what we could see it isn't looking good. I am so excited to finally be able to start shopping and now we can cut our name choices in half but I still don't think that is going to make the choice any easier. If anyone has any cute girls names feel free to share.

Month Five

So today marks the beginning of the fifth month which also means only five more months to go. I can't believe how fast the time is going. In just three weeks we will be finding out what we are having (crazy) and we have finally come up with some girl names that we like so I will be happy with either a boy or a girl. As of now, I still haven't felt the baby move (as far as I know) which is somewhat disappointing but the doctor said that some people don't feel anything until the 20th week so I shouldn't worry yet. Speaking of the doctor, at my last visit I got some bad news. Mitch and I have different blood types, he has positive and I have negative, which means that our baby probably has positive (takes after the dad) and so if our blood (mine and the babies) were ever to mix then my body would start building anti-bodies that would fight off my baby. scary. Thank goodness there is now a shot they give around the 28th week that prevents this from happening but it was still a little disturbing. Other than that things are going great, my energy is back up as well as my appetite which means our little baby is just getting bigger and bigger.

13 weeks

I had my second doctor's appointment monday and everything seems fine. I lost two pounds which was wierd because I haven't even been that sick and I've been eating a lot of ice cream (along with my fruits and vegetables). They also took my blood for some tests and I haven't heard back which is a good sign. We did get to hear the baby's heart beat but all I could really hear was a bunch of fluid sloshing around but the doctor said it sounded like a boy which at this point would be nice just because we are having a hard time coming up with girl names that we like but that could easily change. Now I only have to wait 8 weeks till we find out what it is!!!

Great News!!!

So back in September I made it a goal to start this blogging thing and as you can see I never did get to far, but I am really going to try this time especially now that we are expecting! Yipee. It has been a long time waiting with many doctors visits but now we are just so excited. The official due date is September 7th which puts me at about 12-13 weeks. So our little baby is about the size of a lime and is starting to develop reflexes. I have been really lucky and haven't had much morning sickness but I have been tired and emotional which is starting to get a little better.
Other news is that Mitch is still looking for a job in the advertising/marketing field. He just had a couple interviews and is still waiting to here back from them. We have our fingers crossed that something will happen soon but the waiting is still hard. In the meantime, he is helping one of his buddies build storage units out in the freezing cold of Rexburg which hasn't been the funniest but at least it is something to keep him busy. Let me just leave you with this adorable picture of our big headed baby! (family joke)
