She's Crazy!

In church on Sunday, a lady came over and told me that she thought Addy was just so cute and just full of personality. All I have to say is church is only a snipit of the rest of the week. My daughter is seriously crazy but she makes my life very enjoyable (most of the time).

I'm guessing she was trying to play peek-a-boo with her bib.

She climbed up on this box all on her own and was so proud of herself. Mitch then proceeded to throw pillows around her "just in case she fell" but really it just taught her to jump off the box onto the pillows. You also have to admire the latest fashion: a diaper, coat and one sock. Lovely.

This is the latest thing. She will stick her food half way in her mouth and then shake her head around. The "books" tell you to let your kids play with there food because it is good for their development but when they are shaking there body so much that they almost tip out of the high chair, then I'm not so sure it is a good thing. But it is funny to watch :)

My new look

I finally broke down and after much convincing I chopped and colored my hair. I think the last time I tried to put color in my hair was in the ninth grade and it looked HORRIBLE! Needless to say I was a little nervous but my neighbor promised me it would be okay so I found a picture of a hair cut I liked online and away she went with her scissors and Wa La:

I LOVE IT! It is a little spiky and crazy in the back and it never looks this good when I do it on my own but it is still cute.

When christmas comes to town

It now looks like Christmas at our house! The tree and decorations are all up and there is even a little snow outside :)

Addy loves the tree and ornaments especially at night when the lights are so bright. She will stand in front of it and hit at all the ornaments and branches. Surprisingly the tree has yet to tip over but I know it will eventually since it already tilts on its own. I seriously can't wait for christmas- it is soooo fun to have a little person even if most of the time she doesn't really know what is happening.

the feasts of all feasts

I am always amazed each thanksgiving at the amount of food that is cooked and then consumed. This year we decided to stay home since we had just taken a long trip to st. george and my brother comes home in a couple weeks so we will be back down in Utah for that. We were just going to do a simple meal with our neighbors but food is very important to Mitch and thankfully also to our neighbors so we had an amazing feast. We had turkey, ham, rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, yams, devil eggs, corn pudding, sausage balls and veggies. Then we had a pumpkin, pecan, banana cream, two chocolate creams and an apple pie (accept I forgot about it in the oven so it was a little burnt.

As you can imagine, we ate like kings and queens. Mitch says it is one of the best thanksgiving meals he was ever eaten- which is saying something. Luckily we are still eating the leftovers 5 days later.

The results of eating too much food- you get fat and tired.

The kids had fun with all the couch cushions and surprisingly no one got hurt.

That night we stayed in Idaho Falls so we could do the early morning shopping. Sadly, I didn't wake up quite as early as I wanted so we missed out on a couple things that I was really hoping to get but we did come away with most of our christmas shopping done!!! The rest of the weekend was spent playing games, watching football and movies and of course eating more food. It was very relaxing but now it is time to hit the treadmill to work off all those extra calories :)

Our travels down south

So we just got back from St. George and I know if I don't blog today then it will never happen from the lack of internet at our house. We had such a nice relaxing weekend visiting with the Robison clan. I was really worried with how Addy would travel because it was a pretty long drive but she did terrific on the way down. She looked like she was bored the whole time because she would just sit and stare out the window.

About half way back to my parents on Sunday she puked everywhere. Luckily we had her old carseat in the trunk so we just stripped her down, used the wipes to clean up as much as we could without gagging and then changed the seats but it was absolutely disgusting and still sort of smells even after being washed.

We did have lots of fun playing but sadly the weather was quite chilly so I didn't get to soak up the sun like I was hoping for.

Don't worry, Mitch is already teaching her how to play football.

On Friday we spent the afternoon out in the desert driving the dune buggy. As you can imagine, this is Mitch's new favorite toy.

The leaves were just starting to fall and the colors were so pretty that I had to take a few photo's which turned into a lot so I only posted a few.

As you can see they were all candid because she refuses to look at the camera but she is still a cutie.

Later in the afternoon we went out to the red rocks and found the crack.

Our attempt at a family photo.

Mitch tried to go through but only got part way and decided to come back because he was worried he would get stuck. I took the little lady because she was not happy about being trapped between the rocks and then never went back to try.

I just love crawlin around the rocks although it is a little scary with little ones becuse they can fall down even the smallest of holes or edges.

Saturday we went down to Vegas for a wedding but sadly I didn't get any pictures. We did go to chinatown and I ate Korean food for the first time which was sort of scary because I couldn't even read the menu but whatever I ordered was delicious. And that my friends was our weekend and now we are safely home with the snow.

Heaven on Earth

There is this place that has grass and sand (or bark chips) and lots of fun toys for little kids. Some may call it a park, well I think for my child that it is her heaven because she LOVED it.

I have been somewhat hesitant about taking her because I wasn't sure if she was old enough to actually play. But one day we were out walking and decided to stop and we were there for over an hour. I think next summer we will live at that place.

We swung until her nose turned red and her hands were freezing.

Then we went down the slide- over and over and over again. The craziest part is when I sit her at the top of the slide she pushes herself off and goes down all by herself and then wants to crawl back up to go down again.

Such a fun day! Too bad in about a week or two it is going to be much too cold for outside play :(

Funny story

We celebrated Mitch's birthday last week and I know I still have to post Addy's bday pics but they are on my mom's camera so you shall just have to wait. But for Mitch's birthday I made him this hershey's chocolate cake which took two attempts because the first time when I went to take the cake out of the pan half fell out and half stayed in. I was very upset because I already hate to bake and I knew I was going to have to do it all again. Anyways so this is the delicious cake below with all its amazing layers.

AND......

THIS IS......

ADDISYN
the next morning

I was working on her halloween costume in the dining room and she was in the kitchen where I thought she was just playing in the tuperware drawer. She was being so good and making such happy sounds so I didn't worry about her. A little while later I go to check on her and I find her covered in chocolate, just look at those hands! She had gotten in the garbage can and found a bowl that had some left over frosting and went to town. No wonder she was making such happy sounds.

Here are just a few more with the birthday balloons.

Getting so BIG!!!

I just had to post these pictures because they show how my baby is no long a little baby. So sad :( but she is still as cute as ever.

Play Date

Addisyn now has a new friend named Addyson! Actually they are too little to be friendly but they usually end up playing together a couple times a week because we alternate babysitting which we love because it is FREE!!! A couple of weeks ago I got the camera out and documented how well one year olds "play" together and this is how it went.

We start off with Addy running/crawling away with Addyson chasing and laughing behind.

Then they find the toys! Now the real fun begins :)

So far, so good.

Then Addy gets mad and pushes Addyson out of the way.

Mom takes over and does a little distracting (see the little lego man at the time it was her favorite- just call me smart!) Now we are back to being happy.

Oh- the chasing starts up again but this time Addy is chasing Addyson (I know the names get really confusing-just imagine how they feel).

Man down.

Trying to get back up.

Run into the couch to say hi to mom.

And suprisingly in this case we end with two happy kids :)
