I have been waiting for my new camera for weeks and it finally showed up yesterday at 5:10. So now I can post pictures of our almost completed nursery! I say almost because really it is as far as we are going to get since we are just trying to sell the house and Mitch doesn't want to buy more stuff that may not fit in our next place. But don't worry I am always dreaming of new things to add. For example last weekend we stopped by a live broadcast remote the radio station was putting on in Rexburg and one of the stores was a baby store so I went in and they had the cutest idea which I am going to copy once we officially decide on a baby name. They had taken the wooden craft letters and decorated them so cute with ribbon and buttons and such. I wish I'd had my camera because they were really cute.
Back to the nursery...

I was so excited when I got the email saying our crib had arrived and was ready for pick up. Right when Mitch walked through the door after work, I made him hurry and change and we went and got it.

It only took us an hour or so to put it together and I was not disappointed. Truthfully when you buy something online you just never really know how it is going to look and if you will really like it but this I love!

It was really hard to get a good shot of the finished crib with bedding because the room is so small and I couldn't stand back far enough. Didn't all my hard work turn out so great! hahaha Truthfully the measurements for the comforter were way off because it was way to big so we had to tuck it down around the mattress but at least it wasn't too small.

Just some more pictures of the room. It is really hard to see the curtain because the light is shining in through the window but they really help to tie the room together. Now I just need to finish the other side.

This is to help me try and stay organized. I've never had a baby before so I'm not really sure what to put where so we will see after she is born exactly where things end up. My guess is they will just get set around on the shelf that goes around the room but this at least makes me look like I am trying. Now we just need the baby!!

Trillion-bizillion

Okay, lest all of our faithful readers begin to think that I have abandoned Melanie and left her to do all of the posting, I feel I should write a post. Those of you who know me know that I thoroughly enjoy sports. Especially pretending that I am the "Heman of the hardwood" (which I'm not). Recently, as in about 6 or 7 weeks ago, we transplanted the Basketball hoop from my Parents house in Idaho Falls to our house here. This of course was so that I could really sharpen my NBA skills in case the opportunity for a try-out ever presented itself. Needless to say I am still waiting for the NBA scouts to come knocking on the door. However, last night Melanie and I went out for a little "ballin'" and all of the sudden out of nowhere 4 neighborhood kids wanted to join in. Now I know your thinking "what's the problem Mitch?" Well relly there wasn't any except in order for them to participate we had to lower the hoop to six feet. Once that was done it was hard to even get the ball from the little rascals. I ended up being the referee for their game of "PIG" and Mel played the role of cheerleader. It actually turned out to be be quite funny watching these 8 year olds talk smack to each other about how they "owned the court". Technically that would be my line wouldn't it? I mean I pay the mortgage right? Anyway, we all had a great time and I even got the ball a few times. At this point I got to shoot a bit, and as guys tend to be we started making friendly wagers. You know the "if I make this shot you owe me a soda" kind of bet. I had forgotten how the imaginations of 8 year olds works. When the night ended (early cause it was a school night - Melanie made me go in)I think I ended up owing them 14 sodas, 27 ice creams, 500 trillion-bizillion dollars and the huge-est mansion in the universe. So much for staying out of debt eh? If any of you readers know how I can get any of these items listed please post a comment. Until then I have to head out to the court for a quick game of double or nothing. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Haha, that was cheesy.

p.s. - If any of you are NBA scouts.... I'm ready!

Learning patience

Well I had another doctors appointment this morning and I was really excited because lately I feel like my baby has been dropping. Which means that she is really crushing my bladder which I didn't think could get much worse. Anyways so I was really hoping that he would tell me to head to the hospital, okay so maybe a little extreme, but I was hoping for a things are coming along great and maybe we should plan on an early delivery. Instead, my favorite doctor, who also happens to be on call this week which is another reason why I wanted my baby to come early, tells me that I shouldn't have any problems going to the state fair on Saturday (which was one of the things that I had asked earlier in hopes that he would tell me that I shouldn't be too far from the hospital). He did try to lift my spirits somewhat by saying it is my first one and so it is hard to predict what will happen but the chances are pretty slim that anything will happen this week. I guess that does give some time for my camera, which we ordered several weeks ago to make sure it was here in time for the baby, to get here. I really do feel like all I do is wait and wait and wait but I do believe that the payoff from waiting will definately be worth it!

Who doesn't love Jasmine?

You Are Jasmine!

Independent and adventurous. You don't want much; just to break out of the guilded cage society has put you in and experience life to the fullest. Following orders isn't really one of your strong points, and you would rather live a life of poverty than being forced into something that you hate.

The Diaper Bag

One of the funnest parts of having your first baby is being able to shop for all the supplies such as a stroller, car seat, crib, clothes, blankets, etc. (the list is very long which is why I am really glad to all those who came to my baby showers!) So far everything has gone really well and Mitch and I have agreed on pretty much everything, meaning he just hasn't really cared so I got what I wanted, until the dreaded purchase of a diaper bag. I did not want a big, bulky, plastic coated, normal diaper bag because I just don't think they are that cute; functional yes, but cute no. Mitch on the other hand liked the organized pockets with a place to put the bottle and this and that. So needless to say, I waited for quite awhile before buying the diaper bag that I wanted using the excuse that I will be the one carrying it around most of the time anyway. When I showed Mitch my new purchase, being the good husband that he is, pretended not to care but of course I could tell that it sort of did. Well problem solved. Today at my doctors appointment the nurse asked if I had received my two free diaper bags and I looked at her like what are you talking about so she said she would bring them to me and whala, Mitch now has two diaper bags with organized pockets that he can rotate through and I have my one super cute bag that will always drive him nuts to dig through to find whatever he is looking for.

I know the pictures are really blurry. I was using our camcorder to take the pictures because I am still waiting for our new camera to come in the mail and our old camera doesn't have any batteries.

The last month

So today is the day I have been waiting for because now I am officially in my last month. I can't believe how fast time has gone (and how much bigger I have gotten) but now I am starting to feel like it is slowing down which could possibly just be because everything is getting so much harder to do. Bending over is like impossible and getting up several times in the middle of the night does not help the body rest like it needs to so I am constantly tired. Truthfully, I think it could be a lot worse so I am just lucky that this is all I have to deal with. The funny thing is, now that it is almost time for the baby to come, people feel like they always need to share their delivery stories especially those who have had problems and complications and then they will all end by saying, "oh, but don't worry this won't happen to you." Like that really helps. So I just try not to think of the thrill it is going to be to push this baby out, let's just hope she is a small thing with a little head.
PS- I just got an email saying my crib has finally come in so I can finally post pictures of the nursery!

Family Reunion

Over this past weekend we went to Downata Hot Springs for a family reunion. We had a lot of fun visiting, swimming, playing games, and camping. Yes, you heard right, I went camping in a tent at 8 months pregnant. Mitch just laughs because I was offered a bed at a bed and breakfast and another bed in my uncles motor home but I turned them all down. What is the fun of camping if it isn't in a tent? (we hadn't set our tent up in several years and I remembered it being so much bigger but it barely fit our air mattress and stuff)

While we were there, my cousins brought up the stuff to play glow in the dark volleyball which was a lot of fun. It was really hard to get a good picture because my camera is awful and a whole other story.

I also brought some starburst so Mitch could have his first taste of a roasted starburst and he now believes me when I say that they are delicious.

Overall it was a great weekend, we even ended up staying an extra night because we were having such a great time and because after swimming all day we were just to tired and lazy to pack everything back into the car.
