My Pre-walking Child

My mom and dad have this little toy shopping cart which Addy loves to play with. Mostly she just likes to dump all the toys out of it. The first time she was playing with it, I stood her up to see if she would be able to push it. Well, it was pretty funny because she pushed and the arms went out straight but the legs stayed in the same place and then she slowly lowered herself down to her knees. Now she has figured it out and will go up and down the hallway until she gets stopped by the wall. The scary part is that pretty soon she will be doing this without the cart! Yikes!

10 months

Interesting Facts about our Adorable Addisyn @ 10 months:

*She has two teeth. Both in the same place just one on top and the other on bottom so she likes to grind them together and it makes an awful noise

*Is into everything! I finally had to baby proof all my cabinet doors because I got sick of cleaning it up every two minutes.

*Likes the dishwasher. Every time I try to load or unload the dishes she crawls over and wants to help and then is very sad when I close the door.

*Talks all the time (she is definitely a girl)

*Can stand all on her own. If she is playing and distracted she will stand for quite a long time but once she notices what she is doing then she sits back down.

*Is cute even when she is sad, plus check out the awesome bow I made- so proud of myself!

*she is slowly starting to understand how to play and she will start crawling away and then look back because she wants to be chased and then when you catch her she laughs. The other day we had one of our dining room chairs pulled out and she crawled under the table and was walking along holding onto the fronts of the other chairs and was just talking and squealing away trying to get us to look at her and when she did she would just smile and then when we looked away she would start up again. I know that pretty soon she will be walking (especially since just the other day she took her first couple of steps-crazy) but for now it is just fun to enjoy the journey!

Chukars Game

Last night as we were finishing up dinner, we had a little knock on our door and it was our nice neighbor from across the street. I call him nice because well one he is but also because he was giving away two tickets to the Chukars baseball game. So we raced to get ready and then drove down to Idaho Falls for the game. It turned out to be a pretty good game although the Chukars did end up losing by one run but it was still fun.

Another gorgeous picture of us!

I love this little lady she just makes me smile and laugh everyday! She did amazing at the game and even got in on the clapping and cheering!!

Menan Butte

Last week I was getting really tired of doing the same things day after day after day. So I tried to think of some fun things to do in the evening that don't cost money and you can do with a baby. I didn't come up with many but one was going on a hike. I convinced Mitch to go up Menan Butte or as many know it as "R" Mountain. Truthfully I thought it was just going to be this little jaunt up the hill but I quickly realized just how out of shape I was/am. Okay so it really wasn't that bad, I am just used to going on walks that are on relatively flat ground and so it took me a little while to adjust to the incline.

Taking a quick break in the shade :)

We made it!!!

I know it is a very lovely picture of myself- haha -but the breeze did feel nice!

It was very nice to be outside enjoying the cool evening doing something different. Plus it gave us a little practice for when we go up Mount Borah in a few weeks we just have to find someone to watch Addy because there is no way we can drag her up that mountain!!!

The 4th of July!!

Our celebration of the 4th of July which was spent in Idaho Falls. We stayed the night before at Mitch's parents and then in the morning we went to a neighborhood breakfast where we randomly ran into a couple of my cousins and grandparents which was a terrific suprise! Then we went to the grand parade which I had always heard about but never seen for myself and I will admit they had some pretty cool floats.

Mitch was very proud of his IF Tigers hence I had to put in the picture of the orange and black YAH!

After the parade we headed back to the house for a little back yard BBQ, which was De-lish. Then Mitch surprised me with some parachutes and tanks (my family does them every year and I was pretty bummed we were going to miss them this year). So we ran around the yard chasing parachutes and then had some tank wars.

At the end we had everybody pick a tank and we circled them up and had a REAL battle.

I'm pretty sure my tank was the one on fire in the middle.

After a little dessert, we headed over to my aunt and uncles house for another BBQ and visiting. I hadn't seen my cousins or grandparents for awhile so it was fun to catch up. At dusk we headed over to the river for an awesome fireworks.

We had a great time and will have to hang again soon!

The many faces of Addy

I am finally getting around to posting an update but it will probably just be a quick one because I would rather play with my family right now since we are down in Utah. As you can see in the pictures Addy is just growing up way too quickly which is sort of fun because she definitely has quite the character and personality but on the other hand it is getting difficult to keep up with her. Now that she is crawling and pulling herself up onto things I have to find safe things for her to play with but most of the time I just try to steer her away from the stairs which in our house seem to be everywhere. Her favorite place to play is at the table and chairs because she pulls herself up and is so proud of herself that she gets too excited and tips over which has caused a few bruises and tears.

One of our favorite things that she just started to do is dancing. I had the music on the other day and look over and Addy is swaying back and forth to the music which will happen on occasion but usually just for a second and it is just a little movement. Well for some reason she was really into this song (which isn't that great of a song so don't really listen to the words). I laugh for a minute thinking it will stop but she kept going so I grabbed the camera and started videoing.

The best is that later when Mitch came home I showed him the video and he wanted to see if she would do it again so he put the song on and right away she started groovin'. Later when we were getting her ready for bed, he started singing a small part of the song and she did it again. Apparently she likes the reggae music just like her dad!

So much to do-So much to say

So it's Friday May 29th and work is a little slow today so once again I get to do the posting on the blog. About what?... you ask, well I thought I would start with which foot creme is better for athletes foot and move on to how to succesfully shave back hair. (Of course I only know about the back hair because of my good ol' roommate Brett.)

As exciting as that all may seem Melanie wanted me to write about our trip to the Nations Capitol. (That's Washington D.C. if any of you were wondering). As some of our loyal readers may know my sister Lindsay got married on Saturday the 23rd to Young Bei Michael Yeah. He is Korean and he is awesome!!! Not only do I really think he is great, but if I said anything negative he could kill me in like 27 different ways (some of them painful). Anyway welcome to the family Mike.

The wedding was fabulous. Both Mike and Lindsay have many friends and family so there was a large number of people. Many of whom came from across the country and even the world to attend. They were married in the D.C. temple and had a luncheon at the Mount Vernon Inn, which is the restaurant in Mount Vernon (George Washington's homestead). It was southern BBQ serve colonial style. After the food had been eaten and the cake demolished we watched Mike and Lindsay take place in some traditional Korean marital cerimonies with their parents and grandparents. I wish very much that I could remember what it was called but nonetheless it was actually very cool and humbling even at parts. The couple had to bow to their parents and they had to go lower than their elders which meant they were pretty much flat on the ground. Then there was the part where the parents throw Dates up in the air and Mike and Lindsay had to catch them with a cloth. (This was similar to catching water baloons with a towel as a kid.) Anyway, however many Dates they caught is supposed to be the number of kids they have.....11! Needless to say they ended things shortly after this point and left for the honeymoon. Of course that wasn't before the final step of Mike having to parade around with his mother, grandmother and my mother on his back. One at a time of course. I told you he is strong. Remember I love you Mike. And that was the wedding...except that I have to add that my AWESOME wife made the three lighter yellow dresses for the girls in the following pics. Don't get jealous she can make you one too for the right price.

As for the rest of ther trip it was busy and full of fun. Melanie and I arrived on Thursday night and met up with my brother from Texas and his wife. We had a gourmet burger at Goodstuff Burgers and walked around some monuments. Interesting note, we heard here that the artist that scuplted Abraham Lincoln in his Memorial had just learned of american sign language at the time and therefore sculpted his hands in the shapes to form his initials. As we looked we noticed that it is not painfully obvious, but definitley leads to the assumption that the story is true.

On Friday we went to the Botanical Gardens and hung out at the pool with the rest of the fam that had shown up that day. This was actually a slower day as we had to prep for the big event the following day.

Saturday was of course the wedding and the weather was beautiful. So much so that we went to a baseball game later that evening at Nationals Stadium. It was the Battle of the Beltways which means they were playing against the Orioles who play only about 40 minutes away. It was a great experience. Mel and I always love big League ball parks. The game itself was a bit uneventful, but still a wonderful experience especially for the few kids that came along with us, and even the other adults who were acting like kids.

Sunday we broke the Sabbath and went to the National Zoo to see the Panda bears and the newborn baby Gorilla. Because of it being Memorial day weekend we decided to not fight the parking and ride the Metro into the Zoo. Great Idea!! except we had 15 kids with us. It was a bit chaotic but we all made it safely...eventually. After the Zoo and aquick bite to eat we headed to the National Mall. No not a shopping mall, its where the monuments are Deborah. We walked to the White House and took a few pics. Next was our big surprise. We paraded back to the Museum of Natural history in the Smithsonian with all of the 15 kids, who by this time were exhausted and beat. Now they didn't know why we had to keep going instead of heading back home, but once we got in line at the Johnson Imax theater in the Smithsonian they knew what was next and their entire attitude transfromed... it was time to watch "Night at the Museum, Battle at the Smithsonian." There were actually two battles for us. One of course was the battle in the movie, but the first was the battle to get into the movie. There was definitely a large crowd pushing in to get the best seats. It reminded me of waiting for doors at Macy's to open at 4:00 am on Black Friday. No casualties though and the kids had an incredible time.

On Monday Melanie and I went back to Mount Vernon to finish what we could not do on Saturday. It was gorgeous. If any of you reading this are ever in the D.C. area go to Mount Vernon. It is well worth it. George Washington was a remarkable man.

By the way this picture of the brick building is George Washington's tomb.

Then we flew home..........THE END.
