The Nursery

So I've been meaning to post for quite awhile now and show all the fun things that I have been working on. Ever since we found out we were having a girl, I have to look at every baby section in every store we go in because I am just so excited. I rarely buy anything because all the clothes are for the summer time and our baby won't be born until the fall so it will be getting cold but every now and then I just find something I just have to have. Mostly I have been looking at bedding for the nursery and I just haven't really found anything that i liked that was somewhat reasonably priced. A couple weeks ago, I was walking through JoAnns with my mom and I saw this fabric that I just loved and just at the spur of the moment decided that I would sew it all myself needless to say I had/have no idea what I am getting myself into but it will at least be what I want.

Here is a picture of the fabric that will be used for the quilt and the blue will be the back and ruffle. The flower print will also go around the bottom of the bed skirt and curtain and the blue with be the bumper around the crib.

Now I just have to get busy sewing so I can post the final project but it may take me all the way until the baby gets here!

Sugar and spice and everything nice

I know it has been awhile since I last posted but I have been out of town. Mitch decided to do some temporary work for APX at the beginning of the summer and so all last week he was in Alaska so I went down to stay at my parents house. He did make it home for our doctors appointment yesterday and then he left early this morning. I know all of you are dying to know what we found out at our appointment even though you have probably already guessed but IT'S A GIRL!! We are super excited, plus everything looked really normal considering the parents she is coming from. We did get a good laugh because you could see the ears and if any of you have seen Mitch's baby pictures he has huge dumbo ears (i'll have to post a picture later) and so that is one trait we are hoping does not get passed down but from what we could see it isn't looking good. I am so excited to finally be able to start shopping and now we can cut our name choices in half but I still don't think that is going to make the choice any easier. If anyone has any cute girls names feel free to share.

Who do you look like?

I saw this on the atwood blog and thought it looked fun so I tried it out. I had no idea that Mitch would be compared to Nick Lachey or I to Amanda Bynes but I guess with technology you can look like just about anyone.

Month Five

So today marks the beginning of the fifth month which also means only five more months to go. I can't believe how fast the time is going. In just three weeks we will be finding out what we are having (crazy) and we have finally come up with some girl names that we like so I will be happy with either a boy or a girl. As of now, I still haven't felt the baby move (as far as I know) which is somewhat disappointing but the doctor said that some people don't feel anything until the 20th week so I shouldn't worry yet. Speaking of the doctor, at my last visit I got some bad news. Mitch and I have different blood types, he has positive and I have negative, which means that our baby probably has positive (takes after the dad) and so if our blood (mine and the babies) were ever to mix then my body would start building anti-bodies that would fight off my baby. scary. Thank goodness there is now a shot they give around the 28th week that prevents this from happening but it was still a little disturbing. Other than that things are going great, my energy is back up as well as my appetite which means our little baby is just getting bigger and bigger.
