Attempt #2

So we put a halt to the baby food for about 6 weeks because it was causing some constipation problems which made for a very unhappy baby. This is our second attempt and this time around he's just not loving it. I know it takes time to adjust to the new textures and so we still keep trying even when he squeezes his lips together and flings his head side to side.  It really makes me laugh sometimes. So this was a rare smile while in his chair.

Just had to put this last picture up because lots of times this is how a squeeze a shower into my mornings.  Place them both in front of the iPad with a show on. And yes, we let our son play with dolls. This is the real version of our family!

Lovin' our toes

This little man is obsessed with his toes. I know all babies go through this phase of grabbing their toes and such but wow this guy has taken it to a whole new level.  I sometimes wonder if it is because normally he has his special shoes on, so he just isn't used to having nothing on his feet. Or he is just a canibal trying to chew off his big toe.

Such a happy little guy

I couldn't choose which picture to post, so you get them all!
This sweet little face just melts my heart.

He has discovered his tongue recently and quite often it is hanging out of his mouth!

This is another look that we get quite often.  Usually when his big sister is around.

It is so fun to have a little man in our house.

Bath Time

I decided to try this guy out in the regular bathtub instead of his portable tub.  I'm pretty sure someone had recently told me that they wished they'd started their kids out younger in the tub because now they are afraid of the water.  So then of course I don't want to make that same mistake, so I plopped him in the tub.  Lo and behold, he loved it! He was kicking his feet and splashing the water with his hands, having a grand ol' time!

Love his lipless grin!

I had to get a picture of my little helper who was also cheering from the sidelines!  It is fun that she is so big and can celebrate these baby moments with me.

Looks like it is the big bath from here on out!

Baby food

It's that exciting time of introducing baby food.  We started the rice cereal at about 4 1/2 months because he was acting interested in food.  He loved it for a few day and then he really started to get constipated and we had many days and nights of a screaming baby. One of those nights was also with a babysitter (we are really burning through those girls fast with this guy).  Since I have never dealt with this before, it took me a little while to figure out what the problem was but once I did then we stopped the baby food for awhile.  I was hoping the baby food would help him sleep better through the night but it just made it way worse. He did however love the spoon!

And don't mind the pink bib…didn't realize I had only kept a couple and they were both pink! We have since bought new boy ones.  Maybe it is the pink bib but when I look at these pictures I am reminded of how similar Addy and him are.  Pretty crazy.

Legs and Feet

And the casts are off a week early!  The doctor was so pleased with how much he had progressed that he didn't put another set on. Happy day at our house, although the skin on his legs and feet is super sensitive so really he hasn't been too happy about the new change.  Also he's lost a lot of muscle strength in his legs so they are pretty skinny.
We do have to go into another doctor to get fitted for some special shoes. For now it is just nice to see his little legs and feet again!

Winter clothes already

All bundled up and it is only September!
Someone wasn't too happy about it and I couldn't blame him.
Either was I.
Not ready for the cold.

Rockin the bow tie

He is just one handsome dude!

Love that little grin!

Sundays are just exhausting around here!

Building Muscles

It really didn't take long for this little man to adjust to his casts.  In fact I think that he enjoys having them on.  He loves to pick up his legs and then smack them down on the floor because it makes a loud thump.  He will also click his ankles together because that makes a great noise as well.  Just think of the muscle strength he is developing in his abs every time he lifts his legs in the air!  There are a couple of drawbacks, 1- they are impossible to keep clean…blowouts are the worst just ask the poor babysitter who had to try and clean the last one up! 2- they snag on fabric and make it a little more difficult to carry him around, which really isn't that big of a deal I just have to be careful with what I wear. Mostly it is just trying to keep him and the casts clean that is a pain.

At least I still look cute no matter what!

Super-baby!

He really is a super-duper baby.  I am amazed at how well he handles his older sisters craziness. She is pretty silly most of the time and he just loves to watch everything she does.

Look Alike?

Sometimes it is just a little too eerie how similar these two are.  Eyebrows up, big eyes, same mouth and crease on the chin.  Oh and don't mind that middle finger of Brayden…he does that a lot!

Toys

I love watching babies develop. You can see them focusing so much and trying so hard to figure out how to get their bodies to do what they want.  Brayden try to reach for the little butterflies but his hands would just clench together. At least the mat can be a small distraction while I try to do the dishes or cook dinner.

Notice all the little fit sticking out at the edge of the photos…that is cause they were all taken by this little gal. Including this one of herself!
